Georgia Pre-k Program
Dreamcatchers Care is proud to offer a free Georgia Pre-K program that prepares children for kindergarten through dynamic, hands-on learning experiences. Our curriculum supports comprehensive development by focusing on essential skills in cognitive and language growth, critical thinking, and social-emotional well-being. Our goal is to ensure children enter kindergarten with confidence and readiness to learn.
Language and Literacy
Language and literacy development are foundational for early learning success. In our Pre-K program, children engage in activities that build vocabulary, phonics, and early reading skills through interactive storytelling, rhyming games, and group reading sessions. Writing and letter recognition are also emphasized, helping children gain familiarity with the alphabet, sounds, and words. These activities enhance both verbal communication and reading readiness, giving children a solid start in language arts.
Mathematics and Reasoning
Math and reasoning skills are developed through playful yet structured activities that encourage problem-solving and logical thinking. Children practice counting, sorting, and identifying shapes and patterns. We introduce basic concepts of addition, subtraction, and measurement, often through hands-on experiences like building blocks, counting games, and interactive puzzles. This approach builds confidence in numeracy and fosters a love for math exploration.
Social Studies and Cultural Awareness
Our curriculum introduces children to the basics of social studies by exploring community, family, and cultural diversity. Activities like community helper role-play, map exploration, and group discussions about different traditions help children understand their own identity while appreciating others' backgrounds. By fostering cultural awareness and empathy, we prepare children to be socially responsible and aware members of their communities.
Physical Development and Wellness
Physical well-being and movement are crucial for young learners, and our program includes daily activities that promote both gross and fine motor skills. Through outdoor play, structured exercises, and activities like yoga or dance, children enhance their balance, coordination, and physical fitness. Our wellness curriculum also emphasizes healthy habits, such as handwashing, healthy eating, and self-care, ensuring children learn to care for their bodies and understand the importance of physical health.
